Sheila is an artist, loves music, poetry and hiking in nature; meditating with her fur baby cat, dream work and striving toward peace and well being.
She began teaching yoga 20 years ago. She completed her E-RYT 500 hour certification with Terry Brown through Triad Yoga Institute in Greensboro, NC. More recently she completed her Prajna Yoga SATYA (sensory awareness training for yoga attunement) certification with the creators of this training, Tias and Surya Little of Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe, NM. She is a certified Yoga Therapist through the International Yoga Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), and a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. She continues in-depth studies with Terry Brown at Triad Yoga Institute and Tias and Surya Little at Prajna Yoga.
Sheila integrates her knowledge of anatomy, alignment and Yoga while encouraging students to practice with a gentleness of mind, sensing and feeling each movement and breath without force, cultivating sensitivity and vitality.
She is deeply passionate for the boundless and transformative internal practices of Yoga and Somatics and a true believer that slowing down to touch each breath with a sense of exploration allows us to sense, awaken and connect to the body-mind-heart and spirit that resides within each of us. Always a student of Yoga and Life.
