What does our spine do for us? One of many things, it allows us to be flexible enough to participate in various activities. Flexibility and strength is equally essential for cooking, household chores, gardening, and other daily activities, playing with grandchildren, traveling, etc.
Over time our backbone and supporting tissues can be affected by age-related changes and other factors that many hinder movements.
Our spine is a miraculous feat of engineering, 24 articulating vertebrae, sacrum and coccyx. The vertebral column protects the spinal cord, (nerves that connect your brain to the rest of your body) while bearing a great deal of weight, absorbing shock as we walk, run, jump, and lift heavy objects.
